Acupuncture

Acupuncture is one of the best-known forms of TCM in the west. It works by stimulating the acu-points which locate in the meridians/channels. There are fourteen main meridians, along which are acu-points, of which there are several hundred. Very fine needles (about 20 times finer than injection needles) are quickly inserted into various points in the body, and are stimulated, normally by practitioner gently twiddling the needles, this creates a momentary sensation called “touching Qi(vital energy)”, and therefore to stimulate the body’s own healing power to restore its natural function/balance.

Chinese Herbal Medicine

Stretching back over 2,500 years, Chinese herbalism is the oldest continually practiced medical profession in the world. The principle is that a number of ingredients called formula, usually 8-18 different natural herbs, are used in combination to match the individual patient to correct the particular disharmony. Chinese herbal therapy must be only prescribed by qualified TCM practitioner. Normally, we conduct a diagnostic consultation which will go into detail about your specific conditions, medication that you are taking, past medical history, diet, lifestyle, stress, etc. We will also take your pulse and look at your tongue which could reflect your internal conditions, then combine all your information to diagnose (based on TCM theory)the reasons leading to the disease and developing mechanism of the disease, and then prescribe herbal formula accordingly.

Cupping Therapy

Cupping therapy is a form of alternative medicine in which a local suction is created onto the affected area and belonged meridians with the application of heated glass or bamboo cups. It acts like a deep massage to encourage blood circulation and vital energy(Qi) movement in the related meridians. It could relax muscles, improve immune function, etc.

Therapeutic massage--Tuina

Tuina is primarily focused on the meridians and points where vital energy(Qi) gathers and can be easily manipulated. The practitioner may brush, kneads, roll, press, rub the areas and the special points to attempt to open meridian and get vital energy(Qi) move around in the meridians and therefore fix muscles, tendons’ problems, as well as some organs functional problems.
